JPHMP Welcomes Seven New Editorial Board Members

The Journal of Public Health Management and Practice is pleased to be adding seven new members to its esteemed editorial board. Members joining the board in July include E. Oscar Alleyne, Lori Tremmel Freeman, Megan Heffernan, Heather Pierce, Ankit Sanghavi, and Jessica Yamauchi. Chrissie Juliano will join the board in September. E. Oscar Alleyne, DrPH, MPH

E. Oscar Alleyne, DrPH, MPH, is the Chief of Programs and Services at the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO).  He oversees NACCHO’s programs along with its membership and meetings services. This includes directing the implementation of innovative public health programs, supervising program leadership and services staff and maintaining subject matter knowledge of comprehensive policy issues that impact local health departments and the advancement of NACCHO’s mission.[Full bio]

Lori Tremmel Freeman, MBA

Lori Tremmel Freeman, MBA, is the Chief Executive Officer at the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). Ms. Freeman works to ensure our country’s nearly 3,000 local health departments have the capacity to deliver essential health services to their communities and advocates for local governmental public health.  [Full bio]
 

Megan Heffernan, MPH

Megan Heffernan, MPH, is a Research Scientist in NORC’s Public Health Research department. She has expertise in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and designs and implements multi-faceted research studies and program evaluations on health and health care topics including public health systems and services, rural health, and health disparities. Chrissie Juliano, MPP

Chrissie Juliano, MPP, is the Executive Director of the Big Cities Health Coalition, a forum for the leaders of America’s largest metropolitan health departments to exchange strategies and jointly address issues to promote and protect the health and safety of the more than 62 million people they serve. Heather Pierce, JD, MPH

Heather Pierce, JD, MPH, is Senior Director and Regulator Counsel for the AAMC. She provides guidance on regulatory matters related to science and biomedical research for member institutions, which include all 144 accredited US and 17 accredited Canadian medical schools and nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems. Ankit Sanghavi, MPH

Anki Sanghavi, MPH, is the Executive Director of the Texas Health Institute where he leads a range of research, development, and evaluation projects aimed at achieving health improvement through research, translation, policy, and partnerships. An avid systems thinker and public health entrepreneur, Mr. Sanghavi is a trained dentist and public health professional with formal training in health policy and management. [Full bio]

Jessica Yamauchi, MA, is the Executive Director of the Hawai’i Public Health Institute (HIPHI), a nonprofit organization focused on improving population health through policy, systems, and environmental changes. Jessica has served as the executive director for HIPHI since 2012 and has worked to pass several health policies, including raising the age of sale of tobacco products to 21, including electronic smoking devices in Hawai`i’s state smoke-free air law, healthy by default beverages for kids meals, and securing funding for a pilot double up bucks program (increasing fresh local produce for SNAP recipients).  [Full bio]
