Collaborative Advantage: Working Together for Population Health

Collaborative Advantage addresses how different disciplines can work together for the pursuit of improved population health and health equity. It will include essays, thoughts, perspectives, data, and stories from leaders working to improve population health from across the country. Today’s public health challenges require cross-sector and community-oriented leadership. This series is intended to stretch the imagination of population health stakeholders and promote better collaboration and community engagement.

Dr. Kevin A. Kovach is an epidemiologist and public health professional. Currently, he is the Senior Manager of the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Department of Population and Community Health. Prior to this, he worked in local and state public health for almost 15 years. Dr. Kovach’s work focuses on health equity, social determinants of health, interdisciplinary collaboration, mixed-methods research, implementation science, and capacity building.
