Community Guidelines and Commenting Policy
JPHMP Direct is the companion site of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice. We highlight the latest research in public health management and practice, profile prominent public health leaders, provide expert commentaries on topical public health issues, and develop resources for public health authors and students.
Our goal is to build an online community that advances public health. We welcome dialogue that exhibits intelligent and respectful conversation on topics related to those we publish in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice. Opposing views are welcome, so long as comments maintain a respectful tone that refrains from accusations or demeaning language that lowers the level of discourse.
While we encourage conversations based on sound public health science, we cannot verify the accuracy of information posted in public comments and advise our visitors to confirm the legitimacy of sources for themselves. We reserve the right to remove or reject comments that we deem blatantly unscientific or designed to confuse evidence-based facts with misinformation. Trolling will not be tolerated. Cross-posting information in comments is not allowed.
Content that we deem to be lewd, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory in any way (racist, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, ageist, etc) vulgar, inappropriate, irrelevant, or unintelligible, or that threatens, harasses, or in any way abuses others will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to reject or remove such comments or content without explanation or notification. Spam, medical advice, product promotions, and copyright infringement is prohibited and will be rejected or removed. Comments that encourage unlawful activity are prohibited and will be turned over to appropriate authorities if necessary. Personal attacks, including revealing personal information (doxxing), is strictly prohibited.
Our staff works diligently to make this site a welcoming and engaging resource for trusted public health information. Please help us keep the conversations healthy and robust by notifying us of any behavior that does not adhere to these community guidelines. Our editors have final authority on any questionable comments or other content.
