Heather Pierce, JD, MPH
Heather Pierce, JD, MPH, joined the editorial board of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice in July 2020. She is Senior Director and Regulator Counsel for the AAMC. She provides guidance on regulatory matters related to science and biomedical research for member institutions, which include all 144 accredited US and 17 accredited Canadian medical schools and nearly 400 major teaching hospitals and health systems. She serves as the Association’s staff leader on scientific issues including clinical research, regulatory compliance, conflicts of interest, privacy, and interactions between industry, government, and academia in biomedical research, and is the program leader for the AAMC’s Forum on Conflict of Interest in Academe, a group of over 600 constituents who have responsibility for conflict of interest issues at the nation’s medical schools and teaching hospitals.
