Jessica Yamauchi, MA

Jessica Yamauchi, MA, joined the editorial board of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice in July 2020. She is the Executive Director of the Hawai’i Public Health Institute (HIPHI), a nonprofit organization focused on improving population health through policy, systems, and environmental changes. Jessica has served as the executive director for HIPHI since 2012 and has worked to pass several health policies, including raising the age of sale of tobacco products to 21, including electronic smoking devices in Hawai`i’s state smoke-free air law, healthy by default beverages for kids meals, and securing funding for a pilot double up bucks program (increasing fresh local produce for SNAP recipients). Jessica has served on the NNPHI board of directors since 2016, and was elected as board chair in 2019. She is past Vice President of the Hawai’i Public Health Association and serves on the University of Hawai’i, Office of Public Health Studies, Community Advisory Panel. Jessica has worked in public health and tobacco control for nearly years and has been with HIPHI since 2010.
