Dr. Mohamed Al-Ibrahim is Senior Investigator for Pharmaron CPC and Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. We discuss the vaccine study design, how the vaccine will work, if successful, vaccine manufacturing and distribution, and much more.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Ibrahim

Dr. Al-Ibrahim has been President of SNBL Clinical Pharmacology Center Inc. since August 2007 and serves as its Chief Medical Officer. He served as Chief Operating Officer of SNBL from August 2007 to December 2011. He was Chief Medical Officer of Maryland General Hospital (University of Maryland Medical System) from 2004 to 2006 and Executive Chief of Staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs in the Maryland Health Care System from 1994 to 2004. Prior to this, he served as Division Chief of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics from 1983 to 1994. Dr. Al-Ibrahim is board certified in internal medicine, infectious disease, and geriatrics. He received an MB ChB degree from Baghdad College of Medicine, an MB from Oxford University board, and was a fellow in the program in clinical effectiveness at Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Al-Ibrahim is a member of the JPHMP editorial board.


Lloyd F. Novick, MD, MPH is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Public Health at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. Previously, he was chair of this Department. He has served as the Commissioner of Health and Secretary for Human Services of Vermont, Director of Health Services for Arizona, and Director of the Office of Public Health for New York State. Previous academic positions include Professor and Director of the Preventive Medicine Program for SUNY Upstate Medical University, Professor and Chair of Epidemiology at the University of Albany School of Public Health, and Clinical Professor and Director of the Teaching Program in Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Vermont, College of Medicine.
