Journal Submission Checklist

If you are submitting a manuscript for publication consideration to the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice, please ensure that each of the items on this checklist have been appropriately addressed.

Title Page

  • Is the Title Page in a Word document?
  • Are all authors’ names and affiliations listed on the title page?
  • Does the list of authors in the title page match the list of authors in the submission data?
  • Did authors include a disclosure statement on the title page?

Manuscript File (required)

  • Is manuscript file submitted as an editable Word document?
  • Does the file contain the following:
    • abstract (if required) and keywords;
    • body text (eg, Introduction, Materials/Methods, Results, Discussion);
    • references (numbered in the order they are used in the text);
    • legends for figures, tables, and any supplemental digital content (if applicable).

Figures (optional)

  • Are all figures referenced in the text?
  • Is each figure submitted in a separate file?
  • Are figures in one of the following formats: TIFF, EPS, Word Doc, PPT, or PDF?

Tables (optional)

  • Are all tables referenced in the text?
  • Are tables submitted in a separate Word file?

Supplemental Digital Content (SDC) (optional)

  • Are there any SDC files with the submission?
  • If yes, is the SDC referenced in the manuscript text as Supplemental Digital Content?
  • If yes, is each item submitted in a separate file?
  • Has a complete list of all SDC been included at the end of the manuscript?

Copyright Transfer/Author Disclosure Forms (required)

  • Did corresponding author complete the eCTA during submission?
  • Did corresponding author notify co-authors after acceptance of their responsibility to complete the eCTA?
  • Have all co-authors completed the eCTA?

Open Access (optional)

  • Did the corresponding author answer “YES” to the Open Access question?
  • If yes, did the author provide a completed License to Publish (LTP) form with the revised submission?
  • If not, has the corresponding author contacted the managing editor to request the LTP form?

Permissions and Patient Consent

  • Is there a note with any tables or figures indicating an item was previously published or is being reprinted with permissions from another source?
    • If yes, did authors provide written permissions from the copyright holder of the materials?
  • Are there any figures of patients where the patient’s face is clearly visible?
    • If yes, did authors provide written consent from the patient to use their image in the submission?
