AcademyHealth Call for Nominations
Are you interested in providing leadership to the field of Public Health Services and Systems Research? Is AcademyHealth on your conference circuit?
If so, please consider nominating yourself to AcademyHealth’s PHSSR Interest Group advisory committee! Your volunteer work will place you alongside your peers in the field to plan and develop engagement activities for the PHSSR interest group. This is a perfect way to expand your personal network on a national platform and influence the content shared with your peers nationwide. Stand out by getting involved!
Health departments are facing numerous challenges, but there are also opportunities for improvement as we rebuild our public health system in the wake of the pandemic. By participating in AcademyHealth’s PHSSR Interest Group advisory committee, you can bring your ideas on how to transform our public health system to the mainstream health services research community and help reinvigorate the field of PHSSR. Researchers and practitioners at all career stages are encouraged to apply.
Here’s How to Respond
Nominate yourself to serve today: https://academyhealth.org/IGACApplications. The closing date for the AcademyHealth call for nominations is Friday, July 8, 2022. Terms start on September 1, and are typically for two years. All individuals selected to serve on the advisory committee must be individual members of AcademyHealth during their terms (ie, stay current on your annual membership dues). Available Positions:
All nominees must be individual members of AcademyHealth
- Member-At-Large: Represents IG members on the advisory committee, participates in IG engagement and activity planning, and provides ad hoc leadership as needed for various subcommittees, projects and/or other advisory committee needs.
- Secretary: Takes roll call and minutes of the advisory committee monthly conference calls and activity planning; provides a copy of the minutes to AcademyHealth staff.
- Communications Liaison: Coordinates all IG-specific postings on the listserv. Helps draft correspondence to the general IG membership. Utilizes social media on behalf of the IG where and when appropriate.
- Vice Chair: Supports the current chair in all efforts to execute the annual IG strategy. The vice chair serves as chair if the chair is unable to attend any calls or the annual meeting. Along with the chair, leads the IGs ARM meeting planning, including the coordination of speakers and activities.
