Sheryl Monks, MFA

Sheryl Monks is a staff member of Family and Community Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC. She serves as the Editorial Associate of the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice. Since joining JPHMP in March 2016, she has worked closely with the editorial staff to improve visibility, reach, impact, and reader engagement with the Journal. To that end, she has helped to develop JPHMP Direct, an online community for advances in public health.

Prior to joining the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice, she was the Writer-in-Residence of Salem College, where she taught undergraduate courses in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction writing, and assisted with programs and events at the Center for Women Writers. She is a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte and holds an MFA in writing as well as a BA in English.
