JPHMP Direct Wins Awards from ASHPE!
We are very pleased to announce that JPHMP Direct, the companion site of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, has been awarded a Bronze Award in the Best Website category by the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors.
ASHPE recognizes editorial excellence in the field of health care publishing and annually holds a competition that provides editors an opportunity to measure their efforts against the very best the health care sector has to offer.
All of us at the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice are proud of the collaborative efforts of everyone involved with JPHMP Direct. We launched the site in September 2016, and since then we’ve added 19 recurring blog series, 3 podcast series, 20 videos, 5 tutorials, over 30 author Q&As, 13 infographics, lots of resources for students and authors, spotlights on our editorial board members, special content for 6 supplement issues of the journal, and much more.
We’d like to thank all of our contributors who have dedicated time to develop content on a regular basis for us: Dr. Jay Maddock, Dr. Jason Brinkley, Dr. Justin Moore, Dr. Cynthia Morrow, Dr. Gulzar Shah, Dr. Edward Baker, Tina Batra Hershey and Elizabeth Van Nostrand, Dr. Kaye Bender and associates at the Public Health Accreditation Board, Elena Vidrascu, Dr. Erika Martin, Dr. Molly Gutilla, Dr. Lloyd Novick, Carole Novick, Dr. John Marr, Dr. Daniel Goldberg, our friends at Big Cities Health Coalition; all of our hardworking interns who’ve helped in more ways than we can count: Alexandra Peluso, Johanzynn Gatewood, Haley Cornwall, Michelle Haberstroh; our dedicated editorial board for its ongoing support; our partners at de Beaumont Foundation, ASTHO, NACCHO, CDC, and elsewhere; our hardworking staff: Sheryl Monks, Camelia Singletary, and Elena Vidrascu; our editors: Dr. Lloyd Novick and Dr. Justin Moore: and our publisher Jordan Schilling and everyone at Wolters Kluwer, especially Umesh Singh, Emily Janelli, Lauren Skomorucha, Danielle Beren, and Angela Richardson.
In addition to recognition of the site in general, ASHPE has also given us the Silver Award for the Best Use of Social Media for promotion of an editorial by John Auerbach “Deaths of Despair and Building a National Resilience Strategy,” which was published in the Diseases of Despair issue in July 2018. In case you missed it, check out this podcast with Mr. Auerbach, this video and interview on the opioid crisis, and this blog post From the Editor on the issue.
We’re grateful for the assistance of Mr. Auerbach and countless others who have shared their stories and expertise with us. And we’re grateful to all of you you visit the site, subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on social media, and share our content. We appreciate it very much!
