A Closer Look at the Public Health Perspectives Podcast
Public Health Perspectives is a podcast series on JPHMP Direct targeted towards strengthening the future public health workforce. The show is hosted by Camelia Singletary, MPH, who has made it her mission to learn and share information about as many public health career paths as possible. She has spoken now to nearly a dozen different public health professionals and MPH students who provide a wealth of information about their experiences on everything from selecting schools to attend, preparing for certification exams, applying for practicums, and gaining field experience in a variety of settings.
In the following interview, Camelia talks about the podcast’s origins and how she hopes the series has become a resource for public health students looking for advice and inspiration on career path options they might not be aware of, something she says she wishes she’d had as a student.
