The Journal of Public Health Management & Practice is the leading publication for articles on the accreditation of public health agencies with three entire issues devoted to this theme in July/August 1998, July/August 2007, and January/February 2014, as well as other articles on this subject in other issues of the Journal. An important collection of 100+ articles on the development and implementation of public health accreditation is now featured on the JPHMP website at www.JPHMP.com.
Kaye Bender, President and Chief Executive of the Public Health Accreditation Board, recently remarked, “Having the privilege of being involved in the establishment of public health department accreditation is a dream come true for me personally and professionally. To fully understand, however, the depth of careful thought and collaboration on the part of national public health leaders in supporting this concept is truly a lesson learned in national strategic change management.”
JPHMP will continue to focus on this major public health achievement and is planning to publish another supplement issue devoted to accreditation in 2018.
