Welcome to JPHMP Direct
by Justin B. Moore, PhD, MS
On behalf of the Editorial Team at the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice (JPHMP), it is my pleasure to welcome you to JPHMP Direct, a new online community for advances in public health. JPHMP Direct is a new initiative funded in part by the de Beaumont Foundation in partnership with the journal’s publisher, Wolters Kluwer Health. The funding provided by the de Beaumont Foundation has allowed us to greatly expand our dissemination channels, to include JPHMP Direct and associated social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. In the coming months and years, we hope that JPHMP Direct will become your go-to source for commentary, interviews, and discussion of the most recent advances and pressing topics in public health. JPHMP Direct is designed to provide relevant information in digestible nuggets for public health professionals in training and those employed in workforce development, policy, practice, and/or research. We are assembling a world-class panel of columnists and guest contributors who will be posting regularly to JPHMP Direct on myriad relevant topics such as public health ethics, academic public health, public health scholarship, and applied public health statistics, with others added monthly. In addition, JPHMP Direct will feature special topics (such as climate change and public health), and interviews with public health leaders and policy makers. All content will be aggregated, cultivated, and reviewed by the JPHMP Editorial Team with guidance from our exceptional Editorial Board in order to provide information and insight you can trust. We hope that you will make JPHMP Direct a regular source for entertaining and informative content that fits into your busy schedule. We also hope that you will reach out to us on Twitter with any comments, questions, or suggestions you have to make JPHMP Direct a useful resource in an ever-changing profession and world.
